Apartment J

Knightsbridge, London

2018 - 2020

Located opposite Harrods, in a modern building of red brick & Portland stone, the c.3000 sqft is situated on the fifth floor and offers views over Trevor Square towards the former Harrods Depository building.

The lateral layout of the apartment has been divided into symmetrical volumes with a central circular hallway separating private areas with family & entertaining spaces. Large doors discreetly separate larger spaces while remaining open without obstruction - in warm smoked oak panels with antique brass hardware over polished Statuarietto and brushed French Oak chevron floors. Minimal detailing is used throughout - combined with accents of tan & terracotta through furnishings & art to compliment the Harrods buildings opposite.

Lowered ceilings have been removed allowing natural light to flood into the main space through floor to ceiling windows, with golden tones emerging over the warm palette of finishes in the afternoons.

Door positions have been modified to the bedrooms for a more ‘front to back' view with full height mirrored panels to cupboards and side doors to encourage better natural light flow to the rear of the apartment.

The master suite sits privately at the end of the rear hallway. designed as a self-contained hotel suite to include full walk-around dressing areas and spacious bathroom from the lobby. The palette is made up of light painted walls & silk wallpaper with fitted carpet throughout to create and calm.

White Emperador marble clads the bathroom including a cantilevered custom vanity, with dark contrast inserts that mimic wall panels in other spaces. Fittings & fixtures are finished in brushed nickel and subtle lighting is concealed throughout.
